The Dr. Lorraine Wray Aquatics Center at Howard T. Ennis School
 offers a wide variety of aquatic courses for both children and
 adults. There's something for everyone at the Dr. Lorraine
 Wray Aquatics Center! Come and join the fun!

 Our experienced swim instructors are Red Cross certified and
 offer classes for children and adults, from beginner to advanced.

Types of Memberships 
*   Full Year Membership:
 Family - $150 (includes up to 4 family members, additional family members $10 each)
  Individual-$70

 *   8-Month Seasonal Membership: September 30- May 30
 Family-$125 (includes up to 4 family members, additional family members $10 each)
 Individual-$50

*   Occasional Swimmer -$40 

          To be used by the occasional swimmer or guest. This card will enable the holder to make 25 visits to the pool. If lost, the card will not be replaced.

*    Guest -$2 per/visit and must be accompanied by a member. Limit 2 guests per member; over 2 guests please contract pool time.

Ennis Swim School

Parent and Tot Swim Lessons -Ages 2 years to 5 years; an adult must accompany the child in the water; basic water skills are demonstrated to promote enjoyment of the water. Held each Saturday  9-9:30 a.m.     $4.00 drop in fee.

Children Swim Lessons -For children through age 12. Skills to be taught range from overcoming fear of the water to advanced swimming skills. Children are grouped by ability.

Adult Swim Lessons -Age 13 through adult -for those who have never learned and also those who would like to get back into "the swim"!

  Swim Team -A competitive program for children, ages 6 to 18. The "Ennis Otters" practice Monday, Tuesday, and Friday evenings from 6:00- 7:00 p.m. beginning October 30 and ending in late February.  Swimmers must be 6 years old by December 1 and must be able to swim one length of the pool proficiently.

 SPECIAL CLASSES

Aquacize Lite -The Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program is designed to provide range of motion work for the joints and gentle strengthening for all the major muscle groups. An instructor take you through the progression of exercises, all done in shallow water. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Class fee is $2 per class.

 Shallow Water Aerobics -This class is designed to meet your fitness needs. It provides cardiovascular conditioning in addition to toning and strengthening the muscles.  All exercises are done in shallow water, utilizing exercises done above and below the surface of the water .

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training - Prerequisites: Must be 15 years old; must be able to swim 500 yds. proficiently and continuously on the first day of class; 200 yards front crawl stroke, 100 yards breaststroke, 200 yards choice of breaststroke and front crawl. Includes American Red Cross certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Community  First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Attendance for all classes is mandatory.

  Private Lessons -are available upon request - $15 per 1/2 hour.

Recreational Swim -For families and individuals who hold a current membership. Open space and two lap lanes are available during these times. Classes may be conducted in other sections of the pool.

  Lap Swim -Open to lap swimmers only.

  *   Scheduled times for recreational and lap swims include shower and changing time. Locker rooms must be empty at the end of the scheduled swim times. *

 * All children 12 years old and under MUST be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.   *

*   Under NO circumstance is a child under the age of 6 years allowed to swim unless attended by a parent or responsible adult   *

*   . The Dr. Lorraine Wray Aquatics Facility reserves the right to suspend the swimming privileges of any member or guest for improper behavior, inappropriate language, or abuse of pool rules.    *

*   No food or beverages allowed in the pool area.    *

Replacement Fee

A fee of $5.00 will be charged to replace lost pool membership cards.
*Occasional cards will not be replaced.*

ALL CLOSINGS DUE TO SWIM MEETS AND HOLIDAYS WILL BE POSTED.

*Ennis Pool closes for yearly maintenance for several weeks at the end of August.
